Tour to Antisana Volcano (1 Day)

Antisana ecological reserve is home to a wide variety of life zones and is considered one of the ten “hot spots” of the world by being incorporated in the high basin of the river Napo. It lies between the provinces of Pichincha and Napo, with forests and we stopped at the skirts of the volcano of the same name, a privileged place for the observation of the Andean Condor. Its highest point in the snow is 5755msnm, the lower point between 3100msnm to 4700 meters above sea level, which is the so-called Condor mirador viewpoint. From here one can be regarded the Antisana, Cotopaxi, and a part of the volcano Cayambe (depending on climate).

ITINERARY:

Exit at 07:00 a.m the Foch and Juan León Mera (Magic Bean)

Travel to the Antisana ecological reserve.

Stop at la laguna dry breakfast restaurant within the reserve.

Stops short in the Páramo for bird watching. (Depends on weather)

Arrival at the lagoon “LA MICA” explanation of the place.

Hike on the trails. There are two (trail of condors 2 hours) (trail micaloma 1 hour).

Bicycles, after laguna de mica leave transport 7 km return until you finish the climb, after here we will have 12.5 km of downhill biking (the road bike is in very good condition).

Lunch (restaurant within the reserve).

Return Quito.
